A very frustrating day in the beginning, that app is still being difficult with us, the pressure is setting in, we must compile a report and present it friday. If the app does not puul through we are gonna have to find another way to complete our project objective. The question is shall we find that way, did we find the way... I cant give it all away now, your going to have to wait for the presentation.

I had to wake up extra early to drive from joburg - the traffic wasnt as bad as I thought but it was a dog show from centurion, there were cars all over and the clock read 07:45 so I had to fly when it broke loose however I made it at around 08:10 and we got working as usual - its deadline time now and we need to finish off strong like Bafana Bafana, the app is still giving us problems but Im sure we will get it right and we have a 30 minute presentation to prepare for.

Monday 21st June

I could hardly get any work done because of the excitment of going to Ellis Park to watch Spain play against Hondurous. Herman and Kriya would talk to me but I could only hear mumbling because my mind was only on the big game, however we continued with our mobile app for the defense newletter and struggled with it until I left. I dont know how the team did but I will find out tommorrow. As for my visit to Joburg - it was awesome because of the football vibe but if you asked me on any other occasion to go to joburg I would refuse - IM JUST NOT A BIG FAN OF THAT CITY! The game? I could go on all day about what a breathtaking experience it was but words cant describe what I felt at that stadium, I think football is simply a religion as it brings people from all corners of the earth together - I LOVE IT!

Weekend 18th - 20th June

Sooooooo......???? What to blog about??? We worked through the final touches of the mObile website and it is up and running as you read this blog. After that we sat and looked at eachother for a while because we were done with the week's work, we then decided to continue with the program and we got started with the app - fine progress was made and before we knew it the clock told us that we could go home. I went home to finish the Slovenia vs USA game and it was quite a coeback by the Americans I must say, I then spent some quality time with the family before going to watch the Ivory Coast vs Brasil game - and I was routing for the Africans, we all know how that went - Brasil thrashed Ivory Coast 3 - 0, Whether it was a fair result is a question only you may answer, I DONT THINK IT WAS!!! THESE REFEREES need to be reassessed. Anyway Im back at the Knowledgde Commons ready for a brand new and exciting week - ps: Im watching Spain vs Hondurous tonight - PURE AWESOMNESS!!!

18th June 2010

For the first time this week I was the first one to get here! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We polished up our mobile site by adding RSS feeds to it and it worked out very well - Novuyelo gane us a surprise visit and she was in a good mood because she was gonna get free food at their mini world cup event that they had for her division - talk about a team leader - not bringing us any food or taking us along, but its ok. We are now busy with next week's project with no progress however we shall overcome - can I get an amen??? AMEN! The clock is tocking as proceed - the weekend is here and it will give us a chance to relax and recoupurate so that we can come back all gunz blazing on monday.

Thursday 17th June 2010

We were so sure that our mobile site was done and on track so we worked at a slow pace because we thought we had it on lockdown, we then had a meeting with the interns and it was a cool way to learn and chill at the same time and it was awesome to know that most of them are my homies (LIMPOPO MAYN - THE NORTH-POUND), they were a little bit sensitive about revealing their salaries and that was the main question on everybody's minds - we were just scared to ask. I just hope it can cover my rent and get me a decent car if one day I can get the opportunity to work here. Later in the day we had a meeting with Adele and boy did she show us the difference between a highly qualified individual and U.P. students - all I have to say about that is that we have got a lot of learning to do papa!!! However we took a lot from the experience and we learnt a lot and she is an individual I would love to work with, she knows her stuff!!! Now that we are well equiped we know that we had a bad website and we will get on to work on it again so - let me join the group so we can get on this thing. Till we meet again - Cheers...

It was nice sleeping late - I took full advantage of it by waking up at 13:00, I had a great day until I decided Im going to start watching the football (biggest mistake ever dude!!!). First my 'second' team of which I put all my money on - Spain went and lost to Switzerland and my phone couldnt stop ringing after that game because all my friends and I have a teamwhich we've put our money on. Then I met up with the guys and we got warmed up for the Bafana game with some beverages from Holland that are packaged in a green bottle. Then I went on to enjoy the game with good company - I will not comment about the game because I am broken and these things happen in football - in a nutshell the ref must not find himself in my path or else... I just wish we had the same fighting spirit and belief as Korea though, we would stand a chance, I just feel we have ourselves to blame except for that Khune red card - the ref must be...............

We got to complete the core of the mobile website, you have no idea how awesome it is to be able to access your creation with your mobile devide - feels wierd and awesome at the same time. Cant wait to see the complete project, its gonna be awesome

Today was an interesting day we made a lot more progess than expected and that made me think of running away so I can make it on time for the Portugal vs Ivory Coast game - however, I am a professional so I shall depart at 16:30 'op die kop' and while we wait we shall proceed to make more progress. YOUNG MONEY BAYBAY!!! YEAH!

Monday 14th June

First official day at work, we got into the nitty-gritty of the project - what an amazing learning curve. Im really enjoying the project thus far we are yet to see if there will be some trying times in the future... Oh and Spain or Bafana are gonna win the World Cup!!! *BLOWING VUVUZELA*

My first day and weekend of being employed with no pay

I was really excited about the experience and rihgtly so when I got to the CSIR it was worth the excietment as we got an interesting welcome - where we were given work despite the world cup. if you are going to ask me which of the two occupied my weekend between the research and the world cup - use your imagnination buddy!!!
